Pat Rafter Returns - Champions Tennis - Royal Albert Hall

LONDON (March 29, 2016) – IMG today announced that former World No.1 and two-time US Open Champion Pat Rafter will compete at Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall event, taking place in London 30 November – 4 December, 2016.  A fan favourite, Australia’s Rafter captured the hearts of the British public by reaching two back-to-back Wimbledon finals.  He will headline the star-studded field of Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall for the fourth time in his career and attempt to win his third title.

A winner of 11 career titles, former World No.1 Rafter won two US Open titles, reached two Wimbledon finals, as well as the semi-finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros.  He was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 2006.


Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall, the season-finale to the ATP Champions Tour, is played over five days with a day and evening session.  The 2016 edition will mark the 20th anniversary of the event which over the years has featured tennis’s greatest stars, including Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Tim Henman, Goran Ivanisevic, Bjorn Borg, Andy Roddick, and James Blake.  Additional participants of the event will be announced in due course.


Saturday Afternoon Kids Day Package

In addition to competing at the Royal Albert Hall, Rafter will headline the tournament’s Kids Day* on Saturday, December 3 starting at 11.30am, and help young fans experience an array of tennis activities, including:

  • Fun tennis and training activities at Royal Albert Hall’s Champions Club with exceptional views of the court and players’ practice
  • Tennis competition on mini tennis courts
  • Coaching tips from Champions Tennis legends including Pat Rafter

  • Snack box to enjoy before or during the tennis

Kids Day:

Ticket purchase to Kids Day at 1pm on Saturday 3rd December is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Maximum 4 children per adult.
